A gold-painted poodle puppy rescued from a homeless man’s house will be adopted by a black family.
A golden doodled puppy rescued by a homeless woman from a trash-strewn apartment in Los Angeles last year will be placed in the care of a black couple who is also a dog lover.
“I was very happy to receive my golden doo in this amazing way,” the dog owner, who did not want to be identified, told ABC News.
The couple, who were also known as “Doo” and “Dude,” decided to adopt the dog after hearing about the puppy from a local news station.
“It’s been a long journey to get here, and we are extremely happy to have this dog in our home,” the man, who is not identified, said in a Facebook post.
“Dudes are amazing, so thank you for sharing your love and your attention with this little doo.”
The doodles are being taken to a local shelter for adoption, where they will be paired with another black dog, and reunited with their owners.
“He’s a beautiful dog, but I know the other dogs will be happier and have a better life with him,” the owner added.
“They will love him more.”
The dogs will live with their owner until their adoption is complete.
The owner of the dogs is not sure if the doodlers will be given a new home or if the dog will be euthanized.
“We’re very excited to have them,” he said.
“As soon as we find a new owner, we’ll do everything we can to take care of them.”
